Below you'll find the patch notes for professions. There weren't too many significant changes imo, at least in terms of leveling up professions. There were some significant gold related changes though such as the runed orbs and titansteel changes..
Professions
Runed Orbs: Recipes which require this item have had their material requirements significantly reduced.
Engineering
The Pet Bombling and Lil' Smoky non-combat pets are no longer Bind-on-Pickup.
Fishing
Alchemy will not only make you lots of gold if you know what you are doing with it, but also save you lots of gold because you’ll be able to make your own pots and flasks for raids and won’t have to pay any mark up on them. If you play a lot and use pots and flasks a lot you might want to consider becoming an alchemist because it will save you a lot of gold every day, and it’s convenient on top of that!
While everyone can train Cooking, not everyone actually does, and then counting in the people who are just too lazy to use their Cooking skill or in too big of a hurry, you have a lot of players to sell food to! If you don’t have Cooking I encourage you to pick it up, it’s a decent way to make gold and you don’t have to farm for meats or fish if you don’t want to because there are plenty of people who do that for you and sell the mats on the Auction House.
Once you level up your Enchanting it will be very easy for you to make gold; however, it’s that leveling up process that gets a lot of people as it can be pretty costly and even time consuming if you didn’t level it up as your character was leveling. Enchanting is one of the professions that I think is almost a sure bet to make a lot of gold, even if you just disenchant items and sell them on the Auction House (keeping it real simple).
Nope, the title of this guide was no mistake, and no I wouldn’t recommend that you try and sell bandages on the Auction House :| . What I will tell you is that there is actually a way to turn a profit with First Aid by first buying or farming cloth, crafting it into bandages, and then selling it to a vendor.
Herbalism is a decent way, in my opinion, to make gold. It received a boost in its gold making potential when Wrath was released since Inscription requires herbs. Herbing can take a while to do, which is both good and bad. Good because a lot of people who don’t have a lot of time to play or just don’t like gathering herbs will just go straight to the Auction House for the herbs they need for Inscription and Alchemy. And yes, the time requirement is of course bad because if you have an herbalist you’ll be the one collecting herbs!
This guide will give you a bit of information about Jewelcrafting and how you can make gold with it. Jewelcrafting is a very profitable profession to have, people are always upgrading to new pieces of gear and people are always looking for new gems to socket them. There is a steady demand for Jewelcrafting items, especially gems, and you can make good amounts of gold because of this. A downside to Jewelcrafting is that it can be a bit expensive to level up, but if you compare it to leveling up something like Enchanting then it seems like a breeze.
I’ve written this guide to provide a bit of information about how to make the most gold with Mining. Mining is a really popular way to make gold in WoW and is often referred to as one of the best ways to make gold when you are leveling a character up. I also agree with that and think it can also be a very good way to make gold at high levels. The reason Mining is so good to make gold is that ore or the bars smelted from ore are used in Blacksmithing, Engineering, and Jewelcrafting.
Skinning is a really good profession to have if you want to level it up while you are leveling your character. You will find lots of mobs to skin and have tons of leather to sell if you take the time to skin all the beasts you kill. I will go out on a limb and say that I still think it’s slightly more profitable to take up Herbalism or Mining as your gathering skill but Skinning is really simple and a lot easier to farm with than looking for nodes.
Tailoring is a good profession to have to make gold because you can buy all the cloth you need to level it up and craft items right off of the Auction House. If you are a caster there’s also a lot of neat gear you can craft for yourself. I like Tailoring for making gold because you have a lot of choices as to how you go about making gold with it.
